Case of Depressed Fracture of Skull with Removal of a Tablespoonful of Brain Matter and Recovery

one thing at one time and the next moment he would show signs of vehement resistance; there was no loss of motion or sensation, co-ordination a little defective ; peculiar purposeless movements, mostly of a clonic character, sometimes affecting one side, sometimes both, could be seen in various parts of the body when sitting or lying down. Reflexes normal. Locally the left eyelids were very oedematous,so also was the scalp above. A line of depression could be made out on the left frontal eminence, passing upwards and 21" downwards, slantingly to the left. On first incision brain matter came out and I found broken fragments of bone exposed underneath; these were cautiously tilted up and removed, the fragments were all parts of the frontal bone. The left superior longitudinal sinus was in no way injured. A little more brain matter of the frontal lobe came out, the part
